Long Walks
I often forget about the potent power of going on a long walk. All you need is a pair of shoes and time. I think best while walking, it’s where I more easily process ideas that can often feel more complex when I’m sitting. In my perfect world, I have the time and the space to go on a two hour walk a day. I hope at some point I can actualize this dream.
Hot dogs from Besties Vegan Paradise
It’s been a very long time since I’ve had a “real” hot dog so when I found the vegan version at Besties, I was thrilled. So thrilled I bought the bulk bag and have been having them all summer. Not sure how these can be so good, but they definitely are.
Night Tennis
I grew up playing and started back up last year. Being on the court at night with Ric in a bag watching is pretty perfect.
My little garden deck
Last year was the first year I committed to setting up our garden but this year is the year it’s finally coming together and feeling like a real place to go and grab ingredients from. Truly magical every time I cut something, I’m always amazed.
Cut pineapple and mango on the side of the road
I’ve been stopping at every roadside fruit stand I can lately. I think this might be the best $10 I’ve spent recently. Perfectly cut, super ripe, it’s a dream snack while driving. I love you, LA.
A few more joys from Michelle and Joyce…
Be a Regular We have a standing dachshund play date at our neighbor Sarah’s house. During a recent hang, Sarah shared a piece of advice she tells her kids to “be a regular somewhere.” Whether it’s the gym or a coffee shop, she insisted how important it is to have a place where people know your name.
Standing Saturday Coffee Dates In attempt to heed the above advice, Van and I have been frequenting our local coffee shop. It’s been really nice to carve out this sacred time together every Saturday. (Also equally alarming that I’ve become one of those people I found so puzzling as a kid–I’m useless in the mornings without my cup of coffee!)
Button Hole Napkins Went to Houston’s with friends over the weekend and I’d never noticed that the napkins have button holes so you can fasten them onto your shirt, like so. Just another reason why I love it there.
Alison Roman’s Matzo Ball Soup We hosted a small Rosh Hashanah dinner last week and this matzo ball soup was a favorite. The broth alone would work so well for so many recipes.
Meadow York Manor So fun checking out the newest location of the co-working space Meadow on York. You can visit as a member anytime or book a day pass for $20! Owner Dee is incredible and the entire staff is super welcoming. It feels like working with your neighbors.
Uber Courier Service Keeping this in my back pocket, literally, for whenever I need help with a special delivery. I used it last week to deliver something in NY and it was great and affordable.

Thank you for letting me share what's keeping me lit up lately ❤️
